The off-spinner has been ruled out of the entire series due to injury. In this regard, the BCCI itself made an official announcement on Monday. Kuldeep Yadav has been selected as the replacement of Washington Sundar, who was earlier made part of the squad of the ODI team only.
The press release issued by the BCCI states that,
“All-rounder Sundar has been ruled out of the upcoming three-match Paytm T20 series to be played in Kolkata from February 16 due to a strain in his left muscle while fielding in the third ODI against West Indies at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Friday. Huh.”
Earlier too, 2 important players were out of this series because of this.
At present, after Washington Sundar was out of the series, the selectors have selected Kuldeep Yadav as his substitute. Even before this series, 2 important players were out. In which the first name was of Team India’s T20 vice-captain KL Rahul and the second name was of Axar Patel. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Deepak Hooda have been added to the T20 squad as substitutes for these two players.
In this time too, the BCCI had given information in a press release. In which it was told that Rahul will not be able to participate in this T20 series due to muscle strain while fielding in the second ODI against West Indies, while Akshar will not be able to participate in this T20 series due to recovery from Corona virus and going to the last phase of his rehabilitation.
