The life of a politician is longer than that of the general public. According to a research report, politicians live three to seven years longer than the general public.Politicians Lives More) live. The desire to live a long life is the highest among 45-year-old leaders. Published in the European Journal of Epidemiology, Oxford (Oxford Report) shows that leaders in the 19th century aspired to live a life of 150 years.
According to the report, the situation is getting worse. The report has been prepared on the basis of talks and information from 11 countries Australia, Austria, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Switzerland, US and some European leaders. In this, the data of 57,561 leaders was assessed, in which 40,637 leaders have died.
The report also includes data on women leaders from three percent of French and American, 21 percent of Germany. Different percentages of women leaders were taken to compare different countries because women are believed to have longer lives than men.
For the report, the data of leaders between 1945 and 2014 has been taken. At the same time, the data of the leaders of France between 1816 and 2017 has been taken. This showed that in the 19th century there was no significant change in the age of the general public and the politician, and both had almost the same death rate and both lived the same life.
At the same time, there has been a huge change in the age of leaders and the general public of the 20th century, and the difference in mortality rates was widely spread in all countries and in the 20th century, the income of leaders has increased rapidly. It has been told in the report that in April 2022, the basic income of a leader was estimated to be around Rs 80 lakh. Apart from these, they have better technology, luxurious houses and good food which makes their lifestyle better.
According to the research report, politicians earn much more than the average population which helps in improving their lives and improving their health in the long run. Yet the report argues that it is not as prominent as it might seem, as inequality has been on the rise since the 1980s but changes in life began to take place over the decades.
Whatever the reason, it is clear that the life gap between politicians and the general public is getting deeper – and this perhaps reveals some grim truth about today’s world.
