Why Tamil Nadu and Chennai fans don’t want Maheesh Theekshana in CSK
The fans of Tamil Nadu including Chennai are angry with the fans of Chennai Super Kings due to the inclusion of Maheesh Theekshana in the team. In response to this, fans have started boycotting Chennai Super Kings on social media. The reason for this is that Teekshana is of Sinhalese origin. There have long been cases of atrocities on people of Tamil origin by Sinhalese in Sri Lanka, which gave rise to organizations such as the LTTE in Sri Lanka, which carried out violent acts in Sri Lanka citing the rights of Tamils in northern Sri Lanka .
In 2009 Sri Lankan civil war, LTTE chief Prabhakaran was killed by the Sri Lankan army. During this military action, soldiers of Sinhalese origin were accused of war crimes. Because of this there is opposition to Sri Lanka in Tamil Nadu. Such cases have come to the fore many times in the past as well.
