What is the legal tussle between Munjal Vs Munjal Hero Promoters?

A legal battle has broken out between the Munjal brothers, the promoters of Hero, over the ‘Hero’ brand. Hero Electric’s owner Vijay Munjal and his son Naveen Munjal have approached the Delhi High Court against their cousin and Pawan Munjal, the promoter and chairman of Hero MotoCorp. He has petitioned the court to restrain Hero MotoCorp from using the Hero brand name for its upcoming electric two-wheeler.

This legal battle has started at a time when the country’s largest two-wheeler company Hero MotoCorp is going to enter the EV business in March this year. The company’s first EV product will be a scooter, which will directly compete with Hero Electric.
