Initially, Railwire Saathi CSC Kiosks have been made operational at Varanasi and Prayagraj stations in Uttar Pradesh.

Now people will not have to worry about getting Aadhaar and PAN card made, paying taxes and paying electricity bills. Passengers will soon be able to recharge their mobile phones, pay their electricity bills and even pay taxes at 200 railway stations across the country. Common Service Centers to be set up by RailTelCSC) will be possible with the help of kiosks. Kiosk Name ‘Railwire Saathi Kiosk’ ((RailWire Saathi kiosks) have been placed. This scheme has been started in partnership with ‘CSC e-Governance Services India Limited’ (CSC-SPV) and Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.

The kiosks will be run by Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) and will also let you fill Aadhaar and PAN card forms. Let us tell you that the services offered by CSC include booking of train, air and bus tickets, Aadhar Card, Voter Card, Mobile Recharge, Electricity Bill Payment, PAN Card, Income Tax Return, Banking, Insurance and many more.

Railwire Saathi CSC Kiosks have been made operational on pilot basis at Varanasi City and Prayagraj City stations in Uttar Pradesh. Similar kiosks will be operated at around 200 railway stations, mostly in rural areas, in a phased manner.

Wi-Fi facility at 6,090 stations

RailTel is one of the world’s largest integrated Wi-Fi networks by providing public Wi-Fi (under the brand name ‘Railwire’) at 6,090 stations. Of these, 5,000 are in rural areas. Using this existing infrastructure at stations, RailTel is planning to provide broadband services in rural areas in partnership with CSC.
