Odisha Anganwadi: Anganwadi centers in view of decline in Kovid-19 cases in Odisha (Odisha Anganwadi) (AWC) A decision has been taken to reopen on 28 March. A senior official said on Wednesday that Anganwadi Centers in Odisha ,Odisha Anganwadi centers, Was instructed to take the decision to reopen. A letter from ICDS and SW Director Arvind Agrawal said that Anganwadi centers will remain open for 25 days in a month from 7.30 am to 9.30 am. Instructed collectors to ensure strict adherence to the COVID-19 protocols, the letter said. It has been said that if the children are not able to join the Anganwadi centres, then the ration to be distributed under the Supplementary Nutrition Program will be delivered to their homes.

Anganwadi centers in the state of Odisha are closed since April 19 due to the Kovid-19 epidemic. During this period ration and eggs were provided to pregnant and lactating women and children up to 6 years of age at their doorsteps.

Guidelines were also issued by the Department of Women and Child Development, asking pre-schoolers (aged 3-6) to ensure social distancing while serving breakfast and meals in the morning. The guidelines further called for continuation of the entire services provided under ICDS such as immunization, health check-up, referral and nutrition and health education (NHED).

In addition, it has been said that children should be encouraged to wash their hands for 20 seconds, while also ensuring that windows and doors are kept open for proper circulation of air. Apart from these, the guidelines also call for restricting the entry of outsiders, while ensuring that face masks are worn and Anganwadi workers are fully vaccinated.
