Punjab board bans history books: Punjab Board has banned three history books for allegedly distorting facts related to Sikh history.

History Books Ban: The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has banned three history books for allegedly distorting facts related to Sikh history. Books that are banned (History Books Ban) These include ‘Modern ABC of History of Punjab’ by Manjit Singh Sodhi, ‘History of Punjab’ by Mahinderpal Kaur and ‘History of Punjab’ by MS Mann for class 12th. ,Punjab History, Book included. These books have been published by three different publishers of Jalandhar. The decision to ban these books has been taken after a report of an inquiry committee.

The inquiry committee was constituted following a complaint by farmer leader Baldev Singh Sirsa, who said that these books contain some comments which are not in line with Sikh history. PSEB chairman Yograj Singh on Sunday confirmed that facts were tampered with. Three books have been banned for this.

Many topics removed from CBSE syllabus

Earlier CBSE has also introduced new syllabus of CBSE. (CBSE New syllabus) Some of the topics have been removed. The board has removed the lessons related to democracy and diversity in the books. It also includes Central Islamic Lands in the 11th History subject. The board has made these changes to reduce the syllabus burden. Students studying in CBSE board can visit the official website of the board to see the new syllabus at cbseacademic.nic.in. The students have also been given the facility to download the syllabus.

What topic has been removed

The chapter on the impact of globalization on agriculture has been removed by the board from the food security chapter of class 10th syllabus. Establishment, rise and expansion of Islam has been removed from the history book of class 11th. At the same time, the Cold War era and the Non-Aligned Movement have been removed from the 12th class political science. Changes have also been made in the chapter on Governance and Administration of the Mughal Empire from the class 12th book.
