For Ravichandran Ashwin, this IPL 2022 has been one of the best seasons of his career and he has contributed to the team’s victory by taking 11 wickets as well as by runs.

IPL 2022 season has been very good for Rajasthan Royals and the team has made it to the playoffs after 4 years. Under the captaincy of Sanju Samson, Rajasthan finished second in the points table and secured a ticket to the first qualifier. Rajasthan has been one of the strongest teams of this season and is being considered as a contender for the title. Different players have contributed to this excellent performance of the team and veteran Indian off-spinner or say all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin is one of them. Ashwin has described this season as one of his best IPL seasons and also said that he will continue to experiment and the day he stops doing so, his cricket will be over.

Rajasthan will face Gujarat Titans in the first qualifier on Tuesday 24 May in Kolkata, in which the winning team will directly go to the final. Ashwin’s strong performance will be important for Rajasthan in this match. Ashwin has so far taken only 11 wickets in 14 matches but his economy rate has been very low. Along with this, he has made a splendid contribution of 183 runs with the bat. Rajasthan had won against CSK by his own innings.

Best phase of IPL career

Before the qualifiers, Ashwin spoke about his performance this season and said that he is enjoying one of his best seasons in the IPL. Rajasthan Royals posted an interview of the Indian legend on their Twitter account, in which Ashwin said, “It is a very different year as far as I am concerned as a cricketer and as a person.” To be honest, it has been one of my happiest years in the IPL.

The day the experiment is over, my game is over

Apart from Ashwin’s stellar performance, his experiments in this season are also very much discussed. Ashwin has done a lot of new things in this IPL, which includes playing the role of a finisher and sometimes a hitter in the middle overs. He surprised everyone by retiring himself according to the needs of the team and Ashwin considers such experiments as his inspiration. They said,

It has nothing to do with the performance or qualification of the team. It’s about how much I enjoyed my performance. The day I stop experimenting in the game, the day my passion for it ends, that day my game will end.

Russell’s best wicket

The skill with which he caught Andre Russell in his spin against Kolkata Knight Riders is considered to be one of the best deliveries of this IPL. Regarding this, Ashwin said, I am one of those very fortunate people who have found the purpose of life. The happiest moment for me was getting Russell out in the match against KKR. I really believe that the course of the match turned from there. I practiced it the day before and was able to do it on the field for the first time. If it doesn’t work, I was ready to listen to criticism.
