This is Rishabh Pant’s second tour of England and both the times he scored a century each in both the Test series. He is the only Indian wicketkeeper to score two centuries in England.

Indian cricket team’s star wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant has scored a brilliant century in the Birmingham Test against England. On the very first day of the Test match, which started on Friday 1 July at Edgbaston ground, Pant not only wrote new records in his name by scoring a record-breaking century, but also put the troubled Indian team in a good position once again. Pant completed the fifth century of his Test career in just 89 balls in the third session of the day. Along with scoring a century, Pant made a tremendous improvement in the condition of the Indian team with a partnership of more than 150 runs with Ravindra Jadeja and pushed England on the back foot.

The Indian team had lost five wickets for only 98 runs at the beginning of the second session. In such a situation, Pant used a counter attack and handled the team till the end of the second session, in which he also got good support from Jadeja. Till the T-break, Pant completed his fifty in 51 balls. When the third session started after the break, Pant changed his gear and accelerated the pace of the runs and scored a century by scoring 50 runs in just one hour.
