Veteran wrestling players of the country had opened a front against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, President of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI). These players had accused Bhushan of sexual exploitation. Regarding this, these players staged a sit-in at Jantar Mantar. He also spoke to Sports Minister Anurag Thakur. Anurag Thakur had formed a five-member committee on Monday to investigate the matter, whose chairman Mary Kom was made. But the protesting players including Sakshi Malik, Bajrang Punia have now expressed their displeasure and have raised questions on the formation of the committee.

Sakshi has written on Twitter that what was told to her was not done. Sakshi tweeted, “We were assured that we would be consulted before the formation of the Oversight Committee. It is a matter of great sadness that we were not even consulted before the formation of this committee.

Apart from these two, former badminton player and Mission Olympic Cell member Trupti Murgunde, former TOPS CEO Rajagopalan and former Sports Authority of India (SAI) executive director (team) Radhika Sriman. The Sports Ministry has entrusted these people with the responsibility of looking after the day-to-day functioning of WFI for the next one month to investigate all the allegations leveled against Bhushan.
