School Reopen: All schools will open in Goa-Gujarat from February 21, will have to follow covid guidelines

The Education Department of Goa has decided that all schools from class 1 to 12 will be reopened from February 21, while in Gujarat also all schools and colleges will be completely offline. According to the official order issued by the State Education Department, the schools have to take offline classes. (Offline Classes) COVID-19 guidelines while operating (Covid Guidelines) will have to follow.

It is noteworthy that the closure of schools in Goa was announced from January 4 to January 26, but in view of the situation of Kovid-19, the order of closure of schools was extended. Talking about Gujarat, Kovid curfew has also been abolished from 6 out of 8 cities here. The Home Department has issued an order that the night curfew from 12 pm to 5 am will now be applicable only in two cities Ahmedabad and Vadodara from February 18 to February 25.

100% complete vaccination in Goa

An official of Goa’s health department said on Wednesday that the state has achieved the target of 100% complete immunization by vaccinating all 11.66 lakh residents of the state above the age of 18 years eligible for the anti-Covid-19 vaccine. The official said that after achieving the target, the Directorate of Health Services of the state has decided to close all its Kovid vaccination centers and include it in the general immunization programme.

Director of Goa Health Services Dr Ira Almeida told reporters that the state has achieved 100% target of giving second dose of anti-Covid vaccine. Since the process is complete, all the COVID-19 vaccination centers in the state will now be closed and this program will be included in the general immunization campaign.

Vaccination campaign started in Goa 13 months ago

He said that the Kovid-19 vaccination will continue, but it will go along with the normal vaccination programme. The Kovid vaccination campaign in the state started about 13 months ago and now after achieving the target of 100% vaccination, it has been decided to close 13 centers. State Immunization Officer Dr Rajendra Borkar said that the target of immunization of 11.66 lakh eligible people has been achieved. He said, ‘100 per cent vaccination does not mean that people will stop coming for anti-Covid vaccine, as there may be some people who were outside the state during vaccination and will return now.’
