When the team was announced for this tour Shikhar Dhawan was given the captaincy. Dhawan was earlier also the captain of the team in the ODI series against the Windies, but as soon as KL Rahul returned from injury, Dhawan lost the captaincy and Rahul was made the captain. However, Dhawan has no regrets about this.

Dhawan may have lost the captaincy but as the team’s most experienced player on the Zimbabwe tour, he is always ready to help the youth. “I really enjoy sharing my experience with the youngsters in the team,” Dhawan said at a press conference in Harare. I came here for the first time in 2014 (2013), when Duncan Fletcher was the Indian coach. If they (youth) come to me for any suggestion, I am (always) ready to answer them.
