Skoda Auto India sold 3,543 vehicles in the month of September 2022. Compared to 3,027 cars sold in September 2021, the Czech Republic-based car company has registered a growth of 17 per cent year-on-year with higher localization and production. Peter Salk, Brand Director, Skoda Auto India said, “We are absolutely delighted to continue the success story of Skoda’s biggest year in India. He said that this is a great result and recognition of the hard work of our team and dealer partners. The Kushak and Slavia models have been successfully established in the market and continue to drive the sales momentum.
Company’s focus on providing better facilities to the customers
Apart from this, our D-segment products like Octavia and Superb are also class leaders. The company said in a statement that our focus is now on further improving customer satisfaction and rapidly increasing the number of our customer touchpoints across India.
From 175 touchpoints in December 2021, Skoda Auto India has expanded its reach to over 205 touchpoints. The company aims to touch the 250 mark by the end of 2022. The key reason for consistent year-on-year growth for the company has been the 95 per cent localization on the MQB-A0-IN platform, on which the Kushak SUV and Slavia sedan are based. Local research and development of local components and products has brought down the cost of ownership by Rs 0.46 per kilometer, which has attracted new buyers and increased sales.
India is the third largest market for the company
At present, India is the third largest market for Skoda Auto globally after Germany and Skoda’s domestic market Czech Republic. Through the first 3 quarters of 2022, the company also embarked on a larger mission of fully digitizing all its showrooms with interactive features, to further enhance the selection and buying experience for the customers.
Let us tell you that the sales of domestic passenger vehicles (PV) are likely to reach a record level of about 40 lakh units this year. A senior official of the vehicle company Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) gave this information a few days ago. He had said that despite strong demand and shortage of semiconductors, companies are looking for ways to increase production.
