Supreme Court Will Hear Plea on INICET 2021 Exam: Supreme Court judges Indira Banerjee and MR Shah will hear the plea of IMA (Indian Medical Association) seeking postponement of INICET 2021 exam. IMA wants that this examination should not be conducted in view of the second wave of Coronavirus. The Supreme Court will hear the matter on Friday.

26 doctors had approached the Supreme Court seeking postponement of the INI CET Examination, 2021 to be conducted by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on June 16, 2021. INI CET exam is conducted for admission to higher studies in the field of medicine/post graduate studies.

The petition, filed through advocate Pallavi Pratap, states that the conduct of the examination on June 16 has been given in relation to the postponement of the NEET PG Examination, 2021 by four months by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in relation to the postponement of the PG examinations. There is a gross disregard for assurances. The PMO was also asked to give at least one month’s time to the students to prepare for the examination.

What is the whole matter?

Earlier this examination was to be held on May 8, but in view of the increasing cases of corona, this examination was postponed. After this a notice comes on 27th May in which it is said that the exam will be conducted on 16th June. Students are informed about the exam date 19 days in advance. Students argue that after doing 12-12 hours of Kovid duty, how should they prepare for the exam so soon? Also, in this era of epidemic, they are not mentally prepared for the exam. That is why they are demanding to postpone this examination.

The Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test (INI CET 2021) is conducted for Masters of Surgery (MS), Doctor of Medicine (MD), Master of Dental Surgery (MSDS), Doctorate of Medicine (DM), and Master of Chirurgi. (MCH) is done for admission to postgraduate courses. These courses are offered by eight AIIMS including Delhi, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Rishikesh, Raipur, Jodhpur, NIMHANS Bengaluru, JIPMER Puducherry and PGI Chandigarh.
