Bengali Film Director Tarun Majumdar Passed Away: Famous film director of Bengali films Tarun Majumdar died on Monday morning at the age of 91.

bangla film (Bengali Film)’s famous director Tarun Majumdar passed away on Monday morning. He breathed his last at SSKM Hospital. He was 91 years old. Veteran Film Director (Film Director) has been battling kidney and heart problems for a long time. He was admitted to SSKM Hospital on 14th June (SSKM Hospital) was admitted. Within days his condition deteriorated and he was transferred from Woodburn Ward to the Critical Care Union. Later his condition improved slightly, but recently his physical condition started deteriorating again. He was put on ventilation on Sunday. He passed away this morning. Due to his death, there has been a wave of mourning in the art and film world. CM Mamta Banerjee has condoled his death.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had also reached the hospital to meet him on Thursday. The doctors had informed about the condition that his condition was serious. His health deteriorated this morning and he passed away.

Tarun Mazumdar’s film ‘Ganadevata’ got the National Award

He was born in Bogra in undivided Bengal. His father was a freedom fighter. He was not only a director but also a young artist. His storytelling style was social from the beginning. ‘Ganadevata’ directed by him is the first Bengali film to win a National Award. Tarun Majumdar has set a stellar example in making different types of social films. The use of Rabindra Sangeet in his films had mesmerized the audience. Notable films are Tarun Majumdar’s Balika Badhu, Mr. Prithviraj, Phuleshwari, Dadar Keerti, Bhalobasa Bhalobasa, Sansar Simante, Ganadevata, Shahar Theke Door, Pathabhola, Chander Bari, Aalo etc.

CM Mamta Banerjee mourns the death of the film director

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has condoled his death. He said in his condolence message that I am deeply saddened by the demise of eminent film director Tarun Majumdar. He breathed his last in Calcutta today. He was 91 years old. He has been honored with various awards including Padma Shri, National Award, BFJA Award, Filmfare Award. His death has caused an irreparable loss to the film industry. I express my deepest condolences to the family and fans of Tarun Majumdar.
