BJP’s Bengal President Sukanta Mazudar recently tweeted a notification from Bankura University looking for temporary lecturers with PhD degree or NET pass. It can be seen in this that Bankura University published a notification on 24 March stating that temporary lecturers would be appointed for Physics. To get a job in this post, you must have a post graduation. It has also been told that PhD or NET pass should be there in the relevant subject. In the notification, the salary of lecturers has been written at Rs 300 per class. The notification clearly states that those lecturers can take a maximum of four classes per week.

Ruckus created after university’s release, Sukant also taunted

There was a storm of criticism on social media as soon as the notification came out, where the salary of a laborer is 500-600 rupees per day. The monthly salary of Civic Volunteers is Rs 9000, how can a lecturer with PhD degree in Physics or NET pass work for such a low salary. This is being questioned in various circles. SFI’s Bankura district secretary Anirban Goswami said, “This university notification is not only an insult to education, but an insult to all the educated youth of this state, we apologize.” After this matter came to the fore, BJP State President Sukant Majumdar has taunted it. He told that in comparison to Civic Volunteers, ‘citizen lecturers’ are being appointed. According to him, ‘As a professor, I feel ashamed to read such notifications.’
