Chattogram: Bangladesh on Monday defeated Ireland by 22 runs in the first T20 match according to the Duckworth-Lewis method and with this they took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. In this match, opener Ronnie Talukdar batted for Bangladesh. Ronnie had played only four matches before this match. He played an excellent innings in his fifth match and scored a half-century. He scored 67 runs in 38 balls with the help of seven fours and three sixes. He added 91 runs in seven overs along with another opener Liton Das. Das could not complete his half-century and was dismissed on a personal score of 47 runs. Craig Young made him his victim. Das faced 23 balls and hit four fours and three sixes. Then Najmul Hussain Shanto was dismissed after scoring 14 runs.

Ronnie’s wicket fell on a total score of 154. He was bowled by Gram Hume. In the end, Shamim Hussain scored 30 off 20 balls and captain Shakib Al Hasan scored 20 off 13 balls to help the team cross 200.
