The circular said that in order to promote gratitude, inspiration and positive thinking within the schools, a new way of celebrating the birthdays of the students of Delhi government schools will be followed.

Gratitude will be born in children

According to the circular issued by the Directorate of Education, the birthdays of all the students who will have their birthday during the holiday will be celebrated collectively on the first day of the school opening. The Delhi government believes that this will create gratitude towards the children and they will be inspired to do something further. Apart from this, through this initiative, positive thinking will be increased within the students.

What is the purpose of Happiness Curriculum?

The Happiness Curriculum was launched in 2018 with the objective of strengthening the foundation of happiness and well-being among the students. Under this, 35-minute classes are held in 1030 government schools in the national capital for children from class I and below to class VIII. The main objective of this curriculum is to develop self-awareness, expression, empathy, understanding of relationships in children.

Ever since the formation of the government in Delhi, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has emphasized on the rejuvenation of schools. New schools have been built in different parts of Delhi, while emphasis has also been laid on changing the curriculum.
