The hassle of JEE Main is over, students will directly give JEE Advanced! Know who will get benefit

JEE Exam: For admission in Indian Institute of Technology, students have to clear JEE Advanced exam. Admission is available after cracking it.

JEE Advanced: Every year lakhs of students prepare for admission in engineering colleges like IIT, NIT. Joint entrance exam for admission of students in engineering collegesJEE) has to be given. For admission in Indian Institute of Technology, first students have to appear in JEE Mains exam and then after clearing it they have to appear in JEE Advanced. Only after clearing these two stages, one gets entry in an institute like IIT.

However, one category of students will not be required to appear in JEE Main this year, they will get a chance to give direct JEE Advanced exam without passing this exam. Actually, Overseas Citizen of India/Person of Indian Origin (OCI/PIO) candidates are eligible for JEE Advanced 2023 without appearing in JEE Main 2023. This new rule will be implemented from this year. This information has been given by IIT Guwahati.

Change in application fee

OCI/PIO students who have qualified JEE Advanced 2023 exam during seat allocation in IITs will be eligible for open category seats in General and General-Person with Disability (PWD) category. Similarly, eligible women OCI/PIO candidates who qualify in JEE Advanced 2023 will also be able to compete for admission in general and general-PWD categories.

There has also been a change in the application fee to be paid by OCI/PIO candidates. Now they will have to pay equal to the fees to be paid by Indian citizens. This decision has been taken after the decision of the Supreme Court on 3 February. Therefore, the Joint Admission Board has made some changes in the Information Brochure for JEE Advanced 2023 which is available at jeeadv.ac.in.
