The prices have increased up to a maximum of Rs 1.6 lakh. The company has done this to reduce the impact of rising input costs. However, there has been no change in the prices of the company’s S90 Petrol Mild Hybrid and XC40 Petrol Mild Hybrid models.
What are the prices now?
The ex-showroom price of the company’s XC40 Recharge has increased from Rs 55.9 lakh to Rs 56.9 lakh now. Similarly, the price of the XC 60 model has increased to Rs 66.5 lakh. At the same time, the price of Volvo’s XC90 model has gone up to Rs 96.5 lakh after the increase. The price of this model was earlier available at Rs 94.9 lakh.
The Sweden-based car maker said in a statement that the cost of logistics has increased due to continuous disruptions in the global supply chain. This has increased the cost of inputs. However, the company has told that it will not increase the prices for those customers who have booked their cars till date. According to the auto company, the increased new prices will be applicable on all bookings made from today i.e. Friday.
Why did the company increase the price?
Jyoti Malhotra, Managing Director, Volvo Car India, said that due to rising global inflation, they have had to share the rising cost of inputs with their customers.
Earlier this month, Volvo unveiled its latest electric SUV car Volvo EX90. It is the flagship car of the company. Let us tell you that this is the third model in the company’s electric lineup after Volvo XC40 Recharge and C40 Recharge. At the same time, in the same month, the company started the delivery of XC40 Recharge, the first electric car launched in India. The Swedish auto company launched the luxury electric SUV in the country in July this year. The XC40 Recharge is one of the fastest cars in its segment. This car can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 5 seconds.
