Threat Calls: Vivek Agnihotri is getting threats to stop the release of ‘The Kashmir Files’, know why?

He has been told by a source, “Vivek Agnihotri’s ‘The Kashmir Files’ has been screened more than 30 times in the USA. In Indian cinemas, the film is releasing in a month. Vivek Agnihotri had received threatening calls to stop the screening in USA, which he did not heed. But now suddenly the frequency of threatening calls and messages has increased, many calls were to stop the release of the film in India or else he would lose his life.

Talking about his film with ETimes, Vivek had earlier said, “Audience should not expect anything from the film because what do you expect from the truth? The film is a reality, every word of the film is true, every story is real. People may come thinking that the film is about communal issues, or about certain communities or fundamentalism. But five minutes into the film, he realizes that nothing of the sort is going to happen and then surrenders to the reality of the film, the inhumanity. Of the film and by the time it ends, everyone will be crying in one voice. The biggest thing is that this film is awakening the spirit, it is not just a Kashmiri Pandit film but it is a film of every Indian. People will feel so much connected and with each other, it will bring a sense of oneness in spite of so much despair and crying. When the audience comes out of the theatres, they will feel that as long as we don’t keep quiet, there is hope.”
