The first match of the current season of Tamil Nadu Premiere league was exciting and it resulted in Super Over. Even in the super over, there was excitement till the end.

T20 leagues are also being organized in states in India on the lines of IPL. Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) is one of these and the first league. The current season of this league has started and the first match of this season was played on Thursday. This first match itself crossed the limits of thrill. The thrill was that the first match was a tie. This season of the league started with the match played between Chepauk Super Gillies and Nellai Royal Kings (NRK vs CSG). After playing 20-20 overs, when the scores of both the teams were equal, then the match went into the Super Over and Royal Kings won in it. Royal Kings scored 184 runs in 20 overs for the loss of four wickets. Chepauk’s team could also score only 184 runs in 20 overs for the loss of seven wickets.

In the super over, Chepauk’s team batted first and scored 10 runs. Royal Kings achieved this target in just five balls and started the season with a win. In the Super Over, however, Royal Kings lost the wicket of captain Baba Inderjit on the fourth ball, due to which it seemed for a time that this team would be defeated but it did not happen.

Sanjay Yadav rocked

Talking about the game before this Super Over, Royal Kings batted first. For that, two batsmen scored half-centuries. Sanjay Yadav played the highest innings of 87 runs for the team. In this innings, he faced 47 balls and hit five fours and six sixes. During this his strike rate was 185.11. Sanjay created a ruckus in the last over. Before him, opener L Suryaprakash played a brilliant innings. He also scored a half-century. Suryaprakash scored 62 runs in 50 balls with the help of eight fours.

Such was Chepauk’s innings

For Chepauk, his captain Kaushik Gandhi scored a fine half-century. He scored 64 runs in 43 balls with the help of seven fours and two sixes. Apart from him, wicketkeeper N Jagadeesan played an innings of 25 runs in 15 balls. Sonu Yadav scored 34 runs in 23 balls. This batsman hit only sixes in his innings. He hit three sixes. In the end, Harish Kumar scored an unbeaten 26 off 12 balls with the help of three fours and two sixes. After doing wonders with the bat, Sanjay Yadav also performed brilliantly with the ball. He took two wickets for 27 runs in four overs. He was adjudged the player of the match for his brilliant game.
