Corona virus cases increased in Britain

UK Coronavirus Cases: Despite the high rate of vaccination in the UK, the havoc of the corona virus continues. According to official data released on Sunday, 141,472 new cases have been reported in the country within a day, taking the total number of infections to 14,475,192 (Covid Situation in Britain). According to the report of the news agency Xinhua, 97 people have lost their lives to the virus within 24 hours in Britain. After which the total number of dead has gone up to 150,154.

These new figures have come at a time when Britain is mourning a total of more than 150,000 deaths due to the virus. Prime Minister Boris Johnson has expressed grief over this by posting a message on his Twitter account in a black background (UK Coronavirus Cases Death). Britain is the seventh most affected country in the world after the US, Brazil, India, Russia, Mexico and Peru in terms of death due to corona virus. Meanwhile, Professor Kevin Fenton, London’s Director of Public Regional Health, says the capital has ‘either passed or is still facing the latest wave of infections’.

Booster dose gives 90% protection

Based on the latest data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS), Fenton said the peak may have started during the new year. He said that the city is witnessing a reduction in the rate of total cases, although the level of infection is ‘very, very high’. This is because statistics show that one in 10 people in London has been infected with Kovid (UK Coronavirus Cases After Vaccine). British scientists have said that a booster dose of Kovid provides 90 percent protection for people over 65 for at least three months, reducing their risk of hospitalization.

No need for fourth vaccine yet

Britain’s Health Protection Agency said, this means that there is no immediate need to give the vaccine to people with weakened immunity for the fourth time. According to statistics, in the UK more than 90 percent of people aged 12 years and above have received the first dose of the vaccine and more than 82 percent have received both doses (UK Coronavirus Cases England). Whereas more than 61 percent of the population has got the booster dose i.e. the third dose of the corona virus vaccine.
