UK Scholarship for Indian: The Government of Britain announced on Wednesday that it has announced that it has started the UK (India) from September on the occasion of the 75th year of India’s independence.Britain ScholarshipIntroducing 75 Fully Funded Scholarships to Indian Students to pursue studies in India. For this, the British government has partnered with many businesses in India. This is by far the highest number of fully funded scholarships offered by the UK for a one-year master’s programme. Companies that have supported this special initiative include HSBC, Pearson India, Hindustan Unilever, Tata Sons and Duolingo.
It is worth noting here that these programs also include Chevening Scholarships for one year master program. Under this, an opportunity is given to study any subject in any recognized British University. The British Council in India has also offered 18 scholarships for women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM). Under these scholarships, more than 12,000 courses can be studied in more than 150 British universities. The British Council is also offering six English Scholarships.
Chevening Scholarships: Scholarship will cover these expenses
HSBC India will sponsor one scholarship each as part of 15 scholarships, Pearson India 2, Hindustan Unilever, Tata Sons and Duolingo 75 scholarships. Fully funded scholarship covers tuition fee, living expenses and travel expenses for one year master’s program. To be eligible under this scholarship, it is necessary to have a minimum of two years of work experience. British and Indian business leaders and government representatives gathered in London for the India Global Forum. During this, an announcement was made regarding the scholarship.
What did British High Commissioner Alex Ellis say about Chevening Scholarships?
Speaking at the India Forum, British High Commissioner Alex Ellis described the scholarship as a milestone. He said, ‘Thank you for the extraordinary support from our partners in the industry. I am delighted to announce 75 scholarships for Indian students to experience the best in the UK. 30 percent of Chevening scholars in India are from small towns or they are first generation students. Because of this it is fast becoming a diversified program. Chevening is an international award scheme of the British Government given in 150 countries since 1983.
