US to resume visa appointments for Indian students from June 14

The US embassy in India said on Thursday that it would resume student visa applications on June 14, providing much needed relief to a community worried about uncertainty over post-pandemic procedures.

The United States Embassy in India wrote on Twitter, “July and August student visa appointments will be held at positions across India on June 14, 2021. Students can visit our website, check availability and schedule appointments.”

The US Embassy said, “Student visas are a top priority and we are making every effort to facilitate timely student travel for the fall semester. On June 14, we will be taking appointments for limited July and August student visas at positions across India.”

It said, “Before your visa interview, please review the start date of your I-20 program. Students starting a new program with a start date on or after August 1 may travel to the US up to 30 days prior to the date and do not need to submit a request for a National Interest Exception.”
