Doubt remains on whether Jasprit Bumrah will go to Australia for the T20 World Cup with the Indian cricket team. It has already been claimed in the PTI report that he has been out due to injury, but the Board of Control for Cricket in India is currently taking steps on it. In such a situation, when all the attention is on Bumrah, a relief news has come for Team India. Star fast bowler Mohammed Shami, a contender for Bumrah’s place, has started preparing for Australia.

Veteran pacer Shami did not find a place in the 15-member squad of the Indian team for the T20 World Cup, but was included as a reserve player. He was scheduled to go to Australia. Now due to Bumrah’s injury, eyes are on Shami, who is set to join the main squad. It remains to be seen whether Shami himself is fully fit and in rhythm or not.

Shami started preparations

This is because Shami was included in the T20 series against Australia and South Africa to prepare for the World Cup. Then he got corona infected even before the start of the India-Australia series in Mohali, due to which he was out of both the series. In such a situation, there are questions on Shami’s own fitness. It is a matter of relief that he has not only recovered from Corona, but has also started practicing.

Shami took to his Instagram account on Saturday to give a glimpse of his preparation through a video where he was practicing with the white ball and dropping the stumps.

Return to team after a year

Obviously, due to the effect of Corona, it often takes a few days to fully recover and in such a situation, if Shami has started bowling practice from now, then it can be considered a good sign for Team India. Of course, Shami is not playing any match, but just before the World Cup, if he gets full fitness and bowls with full strength, then Team India will get some relief.

In the T20 format, Shami will thus return to Team India after exactly one year. The last time he was part of the Indian team in the T20 World Cup itself, where he was not given a chance in any further series due to poor performance. However, in this year’s IPL, Shami took the most wickets for the champions Gujarat Titans.
