Gujarat Titans, which is debuting in IPL 2022, has made it to the final on the first try itself, while Rajasthan Royals has stepped into the final for the first time since 2008.
Rajasthan Royals will play the final of the Indian Premier League for the first time since 2008. The first champion of IPL history is ready to stake claim for his second title. A wait that has been going on for 14 years is over, now it is too late for the second wait to end. Will Rajasthan be able to win the title for the second time? This question is in everyone’s mind because in the final of IPL 2022, he is facing Gujarat Titans. The team which made its debut in the same season but made it to the final without any trouble. The strong performance of Gujarat (Gujarat Titans) is not only a challenge for Rajasthan, but the challenge is that coincidence, which has been going on for the last 4 years. Which is no longer a coincidence but a series.
Gujarat Titans, making their debut in IPL 2022, has performed brilliantly this season and secured the first position in the points table. The team also made it to the finals after winning the first qualifier in the playoffs itself. On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals secured the second position in the points table. It was just 2 points behind Gujarat. After losing in the first qualifier, they got a place in the final due to the victory in the second qualifier.
Challenge of changing history in front of Rajasthan
Rajasthan and Gujarat clashed twice in this season and both times Rajasthan had to face defeat. Due to this, the points table for Rajasthan Royals and the path to the final was affected. Now Rajasthan is facing Gujarat for the third time in this season and the continuation of the last 4 years shows that Gujarat has the upper hand. If Rajasthan has to win, then it will have to end this series, which even teams like Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders could not do.
Failed from CSK to KKR
So the matter is such that against whichever team was in the final in front of the champion team of four consecutive seasons played from 2018 to 2021, the winning team won every time in the season. In 2018, CSK won the title and defeated Hyderabad in all 4 matches including the final in that season. Similarly, 2019 champion Mumbai Indians defeated finalist CSK in all four matches. In 2020, Mumbai defeated Delhi Capitals in all four matches, while again in 2022, CSK defeated KKR 3-0. That is, the road to Rajasthan is not easy at all. At least the history of recent years does not seem to be in his favor at all.
