Question 1: With which country India has allowed payment in its own currency for trade?
answer : Now India and Tanzania will use their national currencies in mutual trade. The Reserve Bank of India has given its consent. It is expected that now the trade between the two countries will be more. India’s High Commissioner Binay Pradhan finalized this issue in Tanzania by meeting with the stakeholders on March 24, 2023. Tanzanian banks can now open vostro accounts with Indian banks. Import-export of both countries will be possible in their own currency.
Question 2: Who has been given the Abel Prize, called the Nobel Prize of Mathematics?
answer : Professor Lewis Caffarelli of the University of Texas has been awarded the 2023 Abel Prize. He has been given this award for his contribution to nonlinear partial equations and free-boundary problems in mathematics. This most prestigious award in mathematics is considered equivalent to the Nobel Prize. The Abel Prize was started in honor of the famous mathematician Niels Hernik. The Norwegian government instituted the award in 2001 and the first award was given to Jean Pierre in 2003. The winner of the award is given a cash amount of Rs 4 crore 72 lakh along with the medal.
Question 3: Which Indian women hockey player has been appointed as the AHF Athletes Ambassador?
answer : National women’s hockey team player Salima Tete has been appointed as the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) Athletes Ambassador from India for two years. Tete recently accepted the certificate and rank during the AHF Congress in Mungyeong, Korea. Tete had led the Indian women’s junior hockey team to fourth place in the 2021 FIH Women’s Junior World Cup in South Africa. He is one of the four players appointed from Asia.

Question 4: Who won the first and second gold medals in the World Women’s Boxing Championship 2023?
answer : In the World Women’s Boxing Championship 2023 held in New Delhi, India got the second gold medal by Sweety Boora. She won the medal by defeating China’s Wang Lin by 4-3 split decision in the 81 kg weight category. Prior to that, Neetu Ghanghas had given India its first gold medal. Sweety had stepped into the final of the World Championship played in South Korea in 2014 but she was defeated by Yang Xiaoli of China. Now nine years later, he has won the gold medal only after defeating China’s boxing.
Question 5: DigiClaim, the new platform of the Central Government, has been designed to help which community?
answer : The Central Government has introduced a new platform called DigiClaim on the National Crop Insurance Portal. Its objective is to make quick payment of crop insurance claims. Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar paid insurance claims totaling Rs 1260.35 crore to insured farmers in some Indian states like Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand and Haryana in one click through this platform. DigiClaim platform will directly transfer money to farmers in their bank accounts.
Question 6: Which state has announced the establishment of a sports university in its state?
answer : Uttarakhand government is going to set up an open university in Haldwani. This was announced by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on the completion of one year of his government. Sports associations have been demanding this for a long time. For this, the international stadium of Haldwani will be upgraded into a sports university. Dhami said that there is no dearth of sports talent in the state. The university will nurture such talented youth and take them forward. In this way, Uttarakhand will also organize many national level sports in the coming year.
Question 7: How much amount has been approved as subsidy under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana?
answer : The central government has extended the subsidy of Rs 200 per LPG cylinder under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana for one year. The scheme was launched by the central government in May 2016, under which adult women from poor families were to be given collateral-free LPG connections and LPG was to be delivered to rural and poor households. The government credits the subsidy in the bank accounts of the beneficiaries. More than 9.5 crore beneficiaries will get this subsidy amid rising LPG prices. As on March 1, 2023, there are 9.59 crore PMUY beneficiaries in the country.
Question 8: Where was the first Urban Climate Film Festival held?
answer : The National Urban Commission in collaboration with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, the French Development Agency (AFD) and the European Union organized the first Urban Climate Film Festival on 24 March. The festival showcased 11 films selected from nine countries, which were chosen to promote the effects of climate change on urban life and to generate discussion on sustainable urban development.
Question 9: How much has the central government increased the support price of raw jute?
answer : The Government of India has increased the minimum support price for raw jute for the year 2023-24 season. There has been an increase of Rs 300 per kg. In this way, now the support price of jute has become Rs 5,050 per quintal. This decision was taken in the meeting of the Council of Ministers for Economic Affairs held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This decision is expected to benefit the jute farmers of India.

Question 10: Which state government has been fined one crore by NGT and why?
answer : The National Green Council has imposed a fine of Rs 10 crore on the Kerala government for failing to stop pollution in Vembanad Lake. The NGT has said in the order that proper action was not taken by the legal and administrative authorities for disposal of garbage. Due to which the Vembanad and Ashtamudi lakes were damaged. It is the second largest Ramsar site in the country after Sunderbans in West Bengal.
