Widdhiman Saha, who was an important part of the Indian Test team, had recently decided that he would not play for the cricket team of his state Bengal. Now Saha has given his point of view about this matter and future.
Recently, there was news about Wriddhiman Saha that he has broken his ties with the Bengal cricket team. Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) official had announced this and now Saha himself has broken his silence on this matter. Actually all this controversy happened because the CAB official had raised questions about Saha’s commitment and this matter was very prickly for this wicketkeeper-batsman. He had decided to leave the Bengal team in the middle of IPL-2022 and said that he would not play the Bengal team in the Ranji Trophy knock outs. Saha has said that it has been very painful for him to go through all these things.
He said, it is a very bad thing for me too that after playing for Bengal for so long, I had to go through all these things. It is very disappointing that people make such comments and question your commitment. As a player, I have not seen such things in the past, but now it is happening. I have to move on now.”
not decided yet
Saha has said that he had informed the CAB President about this over the phone but he would personally meet and talk to him once again. Saha said, “Since I have made up my mind that I will not play for Bengal. I have informed CAB President Abhishek Dalmiya about this over the phone. But I will meet him personally and complete whatever formalities are there.”
Talking to many people
Saha will no longer appear in the Ranji Trophy knockouts but he has not yet decided which team he will play for next season. Saha has said that he is in talks with many people. He said, “I have spoken to many people, but no final decision has been taken yet. There is still a lot of time in the next season.”
Saha made his debut for Bengal in 2007. He played 122 first class matches for Bengal and scored 6423 runs. In List-A, he has played 102 matches for Bengal and scored 2762 runs. Saha has recently lifted the title of IPL-2022 with the new fledgling team Gujarat Titans.
