NEET UG 2023: NEET UG Exam is organized by the National Testing Agency (NTA) as an entrance test for MBBS admission in India.

NEET UG: Every year lakhs of students apply for admission in medical colleges in the country. NEET UG Gives exam. NEET exam is conducted only once in a year. Thus, it is the only entrance exam for admission to courses like MBBS. However, recently there has been talk of getting the NEET exam done twice a year, so that students can get two chances. The government was also questioned in this regard in the Lok Sabha and its answer has also been received.
Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Bharti Praveen Kumar clarified in the Lok Sabha that there is no proposal to conduct NEET UG exam twice a year. Presently National Eligibility Entrance Test (UG) is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) as an entrance test for medical courses in India. This exam is conducted once in a year.

Who asked the question?
Actually, this clarification was given by the minister because a question was asked in this regard in the Lok Sabha. The government was asked by Lok Sabha member Ramesh Chand Bind whether the authorities should conduct NEET UG exam twice a year following JEE Main’s exam pattern and schedule to reduce exam pressure and anxiety among youth preparing for medical. Are willing to or are planning in this regard.
What did the government say?
Giving clarification, the State Health Minister said that the National Medical Commission (NMC) and the National Testing Agency (NTA) have informed that there is no proposal to give opportunities for NEET UG exam twice a year. He also said that the government believes that NEET has helped in curbing corruption in the medical field across the country.
