West Indies team is playing Test series against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo. In the very first match of the series, West Indies opener and captain Kraigg Brathwaite and young batsman Tejnarine Chanderpaul created history. Both the batsmen made a big record by sharing 336 runs for the first wicket.

Brathwaite and Chanderpaul are the first pair for the West Indies to have an opening partnership of more than 300 runs for the first wicket. Earlier this record was in the name of Gordon Greenidge and Desmond Haynes who added 298 runs for the first wicket.

Let us tell you that Kraigg Brathwaite and Tejnarine Chanderpaul are the first opening pair of the 21st century to have batted more than 100 overs. Earlier in the year 2000, the pair of Atapattu and Jayasuriya had done this feat against Pakistan.

Kraigg Brathwaite and Chanderpaul played 688 balls together, which is a world record for any opening pair. Earlier this feat was done by Atapattu and Jayasuriya. Both had batted till 686 balls.

Talking about Kraigg Brathwaite, the West Indies Test captain hit his 12th century. He has scored a Test century against 8 teams. Braithwaite played an inning of 182 runs. (This news is being updated.)
