Wrestling: Pooja and Deepak also bagged the bronze medal win

In the Commonwealth Games on Saturday, India’s share came two more medals in wrestling by the end of the day. Pooja Sihag and Deepak Nehra won bronze medals for India. India’s Deepak Nehra Won bronze medal in 97 kg category. On the other hand, female wrestler Pooja Sihag won the bronze medal in the 76 kg weight category. With this, India’s medal tally in wrestling stood at 12, including six gold.

Deepak Nehra won the bronze medal by defeating Pakistan’s Tyeb Raza 10-2 on points basis. On the other hand, Pooja Sihag won the bronze by defeating Naomi de Bruyne of Australia 11-0 on the basis of technical superiority.

From the very beginning, Pooja kept her opponent on the backfoot and started applying pressure. Pooja bet the first two points. After this he rolled his opponent twice. Here the score was 6-0. From here Pooja wanted some more bets which she easily placed. Pooja took two more points from here and made the score 8-0. The score remained the same in the first half. The second round started and Naomi’s struggle continued, but she could not last long. Pooja took him out to collect points and won the bronze medal.

Deepak also showed his strength

After this Deepak took a single leg grip but the Pakistani player saved himself and also took two points. Deepak still had a 3-2 lead after the first round. Deepak started the second round aggressively and slammed his opponent and rolled them. Thus he took six points. In the last minute, there was nothing left for Tyeb, here Deepak took another point and won the match 10-2.
