CAB President Abhishek Dalmiya said in a statement, “The Cricket Association of Bengal wanted Saha to be with the team at a crucial time when the team would be playing the Ranji Trophy knockouts and trying to win the title. I told this to Saha and asked him to reconsider his decision. Saha, however, has told us that he is not interested in playing Ranji knockouts.
Will not refuse to give NOC
The CAB official said that Saha has not yet asked for a no-objection certificate but will not refuse to give it if he asks for it. The official told news agency PTI, “We tried hard to persuade Saha, through his childhood coach Jayant Bhowmik we also tried to persuade him but he has decided that he will not play for Bengal again. When he asks for NOC, it will be given to him.”

In such a situation, a member of the Bengal team’s coaching staff told the newspaper, “I will not say anything on Saha’s decision but now the situation is clear and we can plan accordingly.
