If you are fond of ordering food online from restaurants, then there is good news for you. Actually many big restaurants are offering good discount offers on their app. If you order food online from their app then you can get a discount of 15 to 20 percent. While this is a profitable deal for people, it is not good news for food delivery companies like Zomato and Swiggy. Problems may increase for Swiggy in the coming time…..

Why restaurants are giving more discount on their app

Restaurants are also offering this discount because Zomato and Swiggy charge a commission of 15 to 30 percent on every order. Whereas new technology platforms like Google and ThriveNow charge only 3 to 5 per cent. It also gives restaurants an opportunity to increase their digital facilities. Restaurants expect the demand to increase further in the coming festive season. For this too, restaurants are offering more discount offers on their app.

More recently, India’s largest quick service chain Domino’s Pizza has launched several free reward offers on its app for delivery, takeaway and dine-in. Domino’s has 1625 outlets in India. Jubilant Foodworks, the master franchisee of Domino’s Pizza in India, had taken a 35 per cent stake in Hashtag Loyalty.

Where are you getting good offers

Domino’s as well as McDonald’s, Social, Punjab Grill, Degustibus Hospitality, Street Foods of India, Wow! Momo and Pizza Hut are also offering good discount offers on their apps. More restaurants may offer discount offers on their app in the coming times. If this happens, it will have a direct impact on online food delivery companies like Zomato and Swiggy. On the other hand, if we talk about Zomato, then its consolidated deficit has halved to Rs 186 crore in the first quarter from Rs 360.7 crore in the same period last year. Zomato had recently acquired quick commerce platform Blinkit for Rs 4447 crore.
